Alexandra Thiry is a first-year undergraduate student majoring in Pre-Psychology at California State University, Long Beach. Through the University Research Opportunity Program (UROP), she became a research assistant at Dr. Kimberly Kelly’s Child Language, Interactions, and Memory Lab (CLIaM Lab) in Fall 2025. She is a dedicated member of both UROP and the University Honors Program (UHP). Through her experiences in CLIaM lab, she hopes to deepen her understanding of child development, particularly on how parental interactions shape child memory and learning outcomes. She also hopes to strengthen her research skills in communication, collaboration, and statistical analysis. These experiences will help her reach her goal of obtaining a master’s degree in marriage and family counseling upon graduating in 2029, so she can further explore the psychology of families to help people improve their mental health and relationships. In the long term, she hopes to obtain a PhD in Psychology, so she can expand her knowledge of developmental psychology. In her free time, she enjoys reading, sewing, and watching TV.
