Julio Aguirre is a first-year student and is currently majoring in Mathematics at California State University, Long Beach (CSULB). He is also a part of the Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program (UROP) where he is working with Dr. Kim Kelly in the Child Language Interactions and Memory (CLIaM) lab. He joined CLIaM lab because he was very intrigued about the child development aspect and would like to develop more skills in research such as collecting data, analyzing reports, and critical thinking. Also, as a STEM major, he would like to observe how families introduce their children to STEM. Julio is eager to learn how to interpret research statistics. Julio hopes to gain more research experience to prepare him for future internships and career opportunities. He plans to go to graduate school, hopefully, closer to his hometown, and obtain a Master’s in Mathematics. In his free time, Julio loves to play and watch sports such as volleyball and soccer. He also enjoys collecting sneakers and is slowly becoming a sneakerhead.
