In the Fall of 2023, she joined Dr. Kelly’s Child Language Interactions and Memory (CLIaM) lab as a research assistant. Launa’s interest in CLIaM lab stems from her passion for education and narrative storytelling, which fuels her exploration of how parent-child conversations promote science interest in preschoolaged children. She aims to cultivate an interdisciplinary perspective that deepens her understanding of the interconnectedness of the global community on pressing universal issues. One area of interest is investigating how certain dominant narratives, such as the Third World Difference, manifest in scholarly discourse. Her regional focus is on East Asia and Southeast Asia, particularly Cambodia. She plans to explore how East Asia gained economic power under Western power concerning Cambodia, which is still considered one of the least developed countries in the world. Throughout her academic journey, Launa has co-presented research at two undergraduate research symposiums, the National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR), and the Western Psychological Association (WPA) 2024 conference. In her free time, Launa enjoys spending time with family, immersing herself in books, and experimenting in the kitchen.
